The book launch Chinese Gusu Prints in the Christer von der Burg Collection (《欧洲冯氏藏中国姑苏版画》) was held at the Taohuawu Nianhua Museum (Puyuan) 桃花坞年画博物馆(仆园)in Suzhou, China on 11 April, 2026.  Numerous scholars, experts, curators, and collectors gathered to celebrate the publication of this important work

Christer von der Burg, founder of the Muban Educational Trust and a renowned collector, has spent more than forty years carefully acquiring hundreds of Gusu prints. The catalogue, published by Cultural Relics Press of China, includes 220 masterpieces painstakingly collected by Christer over the years.  It is published in three editions: a deluxe large two volumes edition in Both English and Chinese, a two volumes edition in Chinese only, and a two volumes edition in English only. 

These volumes represent the largest and most comprehensive academic research on Gusu prints to date. The catalogue entries were written by Christer von der Burg and English scholars, while the Chinese translation was completed by a team of Chinese scholars and translators.  It is a monumental work between Chinese and Western scholarship and presenting a complete account of the historical development and influence of Gusu prints. This book will introduce Gusu prints to a wider audience, inspire a new generation of scholars, and promote further research in this field.
